Whistler, BC is a great place to splurge – and one way to do that is by getting the best deal on a great hotel as your starting point and then enjoy the fun from there! We can help by assisting you in finding Budget Hotels Whistler:
Step 1 – Check into the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort
Whistler’s premiere luxury resort, Fairmont Chateau Whistler has been wowing travellers since 1989, not long after Blackcomb Mountain opened its new facilities for skiers. The hotel is located in one of the best spots in Whistler, right at the base of Blackcomb and is truly a ski in ski out resort. The hotel offers several restaurants and lounges, a health club facility and pools, Vida spa and shops. The rooms are downright sumptuous! If your budget allows, spring for an upgrade to the Fairmont Gold floor which includes complimentary daily breakfast and evening Hors d’Oeuvres and refreshments throughout the day. The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Course opens in May and guests of The Fairmont enjoy unlimited golf at this Audubon-certified course. (Tip: Our site can get you the lowest rate at the Fairmont Chateau – and many other great hotels in Whistler. – Enter dates in our search box and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Our name may be Budget Hotels but the long version is “deals on great hotels so you have more budget to play with”).
Step 2-Buy your sweetie a Fur Parka at Snowflake
Located within the Fairmont Chateau Whistler is a gem of a shop. It specializes in fur coats and jackets, leather, cashmere and the coolest selection of hats, gloves, muffs and scarves I’ve ever laid eyes on. A true Canadian success story. this thriving fashion store is billed as “simply the best in great Canadian design.” I can see why.
Step 3-Enjoy après-ski at Merlin’s at the base of Blackcomb Mountain
No trip to Whistler is complete without at least one stop at Merlin’s. This sprawling, kitschy restaurant/bar is a staple amongst visitors and locals alike. Lots of seats, loud music, international staff, this fun place is a great choice to fortify yourself. Meet a few new friends while you’re at it. I loved the Chicken Corn Chowder. It was served with a corn muffin, and tortilla chips.
Step 4-Wine and Dine at Hy’s Steakhouse
Another Canadian original is Hy’s Steakhouse. Conceptualized by the gregarious Hy Aisenstat, dining at Hy’s represents the ultimate old world experience. Caesar salad prepared table side, aged Canadian beef cooked exquisitely, and a roasted Prime Rib with Yorkshire pudding that will make you weep. Forget the calories and order the Cheese Toast for Two for its gooey decadence. Finish your meal with the gorgeously smooth and tart Key Lime Pie. New General Manager, Michael Kyle, will ensure you enjoy a night to remember.
Step 5-Recover at Scandinave Spa
If you need time to recover and reflect, head to the Scandinave Spa for hydrotherapy rejuvenation. It’s only a few minutes from Whistler Village. This unique spa offers hot baths, wood burning sauna, eucalyptus steam bath, refreshing waterfalls and full massage therapy services. There is also a small bistro onsite. This 20,000 square foot nature spa is nestled among the natural majesty of Whistler’s mountains. $58 gets you admittance to Scandinavian Bath Experience, but the best value is to book a massage package (starting at $148), which includes unlimited access to the baths at no extra cost.
